Safeguarding

Safeguarding information

Everyone at the St Mary and St Nicolas, Spalding, has a responsibility to keep our children, young people and adults safe and protected from harm.

At St Mary and St Nicolas, we follow strict policies, procedures and workplace practice to ensure that everyone is kept safe. We ask everyone to abide by these when asked to do so by a member of leadership or when undertaking any kind of activity that requires it.

We follow the 6 safeguarding commitments of the Church of England. Find out more here

We have a Parish Safeguarding Officer whose responsibilities include ensuring that everyone who has significant contact with children or vulnerable adults is properly and safely recruited, checked and monitored. They can provide advise and guidance on any safeguarding related matter. Their details can be found on the church noticeboard or below.

Our parish of St Mary and St Nicolas, Spalding, is committed to safeguarding children, young people, and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Safeguarding Officer. The safeguarding pages on the Diocese of Lincoln’s website contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Team who advises our Parish Safeguarding Officer. The Diocesan Safeguarding pages can be found here.
