Callings to Lay Ministries and Callings to be a Deacon or Priest.
Have you noticed within yourself a sense of calling – something bubbling up when you are in or around church that you can’t quite explain? Do you feel a strange kind of attraction to do something more, but you are not sure what? It could be you have a calling towards Lay or Ordained Ministry.
We would be delighted to explore this with you and take the time necessary to ensure that you can locate your calling in the right kind of ministry.
All of us are called to ministry on some level. God simply does not give us gifts so that we waste them. He gives us gifts so that we can each contribute to the building up of each other and the whole church body.
For some people, they may feel called to a special lay ministry in the church, such as those below (click on the links to find our more):
- Accredited Lay Ministry (may assist in leading worship or are involved in pastoral visiting, evangelism and mission)
- Reader Ministry (may help lead services, pastoral care, preach, teach, take funerals and helps with other significant aspects of church life).
Sometimes individuals are called to an ordained ministry in the church, to be a deacon or a priest. These require a particular discernment pathway that is usually quite rigorous in order to ensure that this truly is the role that God is calling you towards. To find our more, click here:
