Having a close loved one die is a most difficult time. As your Parish Church, we are here for you! We will try to make sure the process of arranging your funeral is as simple and straightforward as possible. In the first instance, it is always best to contact your funeral directors and impress upon them your desire to have a Church Funeral or a Minister take the funeral elsewhere (at the crematorium or graveside).
Then, one of our ministers will arrange a time with you to meet, chat about what you would like in the service, talk you through the ceremony and get to know a little about your departed loved one. They will look to support you in your grief and will be there to support you long after the service itself has been conducted.
We will be able to advise you regarding music, hymns, readings and orders of service. The church service is designed to help you in an holistic way with the journey of grief whilst respectfully honouring the person you knew and loved.
Your loved one’s name will be remembered in our prayers in the weeks following their death. We will also be praying for you and all of your loved one’s family members who may be grieving their loss. You might like to come to church of those following Sundays and join us in those prayers.
Our care for you does not finish once the service is over. As your parish church we are here for you through all the highs and lows in the years ahead. We are here for you and if there is anything we can do for you, do not hesitate to get in touch byr using the details on the contacts page of this website.
